Did you ever realize
Everything God has put on this earth-
Has color-most beautiful?
Only when we shut out all light
Is everything black.
This morning the world is shades of
Silver and Blue!

* * *

Grey, Grey, Grey, Grey -- Grey!
I sure do feel the weather today.
March has treated us to unusual weather.
Bright blue skies with proud ships
Flying by in full white sail.
At night, a day's blue cathedral ceiling,
Filled with diamonds of all sizes -- making designs
if you take time to look.
A light is starting to peek through on the horizon
Pushing all that grey away,
Lighting the world as a smile lights up a face.
March is sharing her energy with us.

It seems the only thing in life
That is certain is change.
This morning the sky is a
"Sailors warning."
A band of red along the horizon
Behind the black pines..
Cold clear beautiful..
Birds are singing.

I can't look for color outside my home this morning.
My Christmas Cactus is in full bloom over my kitchen sink.
Each bloom is a triple coral flower,
On the end of a deep green cactus stem.
The rose at my kitchen window is a deep lavender.
The leaves are deep emerald green.
Outside my window, the world is encased,
In a mantel of light blue clouds.
The birds are singing in a full chorus.

A cheerful wave from my neighbor across the road
Lifts my spirits.
The birds are discordantly warming up for
Their morning symphony -
My coffee is perking,
My friend is waiting for me --

Good Morning!
The sun is hiding today.
We let Blizzard free and
Walked down the driveway to
Rescue the newspaper
From the puddle,
At the foot of it.

Looking out of my kitchen window, I see
Long shadows on the bit of green grass this morning
Silver sun touching the tips of the pines.
Sun shining through my glass rose
And making the rose appear to be a jewel.
The iris, tulips and daffodils
Are still under their blankets.
The air is cold and clear.
I would say March is greeting us as a cold lamb.
The clear air feels good.
A morning dove's call echoes down the fairway,
A tiny woodpecker sits fifty feet up on a tall pine
Tapping out his breakfast.
A cardinal sits proudly on a fence stump.
I wonder if she knows the sun makers her crown so bright?
Now to the comfort of bed, coffee and the morning paper.
Someone is waiting for me.
Thank God for all these blessings.

What a pleasure it is to see this silver
And grey mottled sunrise.
Ah! There the sun shines, separating the grey puffs,
Making spots dance before my eyes.
Blizzard barks, I let her in the house.
She runs back to be with her master.
The Long shadows appear, as if by magic.
The first week in March
Went by so fast, I will cherish this day.
I love and I am loved - Thank God!

I'm half asleep this morning.
Just want to go back to bed.
If you don't mind my dear,
I'll just be that typical old,
"Sleepy head."

* * *

The sun is just an orange spark
Shining through the trees.
Something like the bit of spark
That lights our stove.
Now we are waiting, without being aware of the waiting,
For this spark to catch fire, and warm our hearts,
And bring us cheer for another day.
My kitchen turns into a cathedral
When the sun shines through my stained glass rose.

* * *

I slept through the sunrise today.
To miss the start of the day
Is a disappointment.
But, oh! That bed was so cozy and warm.
I know the sunrise will be there tomorrow.
I will watch for it then.
