I have seen
two bluebirds,
That I remember
In my lifetime.
Bluebirds flying free.
One along the road above Bev and Phil's house,
The other before passed our car
On Turfwood Drive

Susan and
I had a lady's yester-day,
Pretty things to look at in the stores.
We bought a few, enjoyed the view,
Of spring fashions.
We even saw a tall tree in full white bloom.
Lunch was delicious,
And Dad was suspicious - he saw the rising moon.
It was seven p.m.
I will not cause him to worry again.

Clear sky
- new moon
Geese flying northwest
Green grass - green trees
Early bird singing
Flowers in bloom
Bees, birds, butterflies
Hummingbirds and crickets
Greet me in the morning.
It's summer!

NEW DAY!
The Indians call this the
REAL WORLD
Silver crescent moon mid high soft deep blue sky,
Black rolling trees silhouetted against
Tangerine stroked horizon touching
A moist river of rolling grass
Crickets, birds butterflies and bees are still asleep.
Thank you Lord for this morning.

Yesterday my guests for
breakfast were
Sparrows
Morning doves
Hummingbirds
Cardinals and a
Squirrel - good company
Heavy sunny summer morning midst the singing of the birds
I am happy in Carolina.
* * *
Battleships floating in
a sea of blue?
Or is it a grey turtle that I see?
The sky has changed
It's pale peach hue to me.

Because there was no clam
chowder
Because I made steak instead
Because the steak loosened my bridgework
Because Howard had to take me to Dr. Wooten in the morning
Because we chose to take a new route home,
Because I had had a little case of the doldrums
Because the route was old, cherished, different,
Because the change was good for me,
I lost the doldrums.

The sun did not show its
face this morning.
Oh well, sometimes we all feel like being shy.
* * *
There was no rain to speak
of, but I feel as though a storm has passed.
Beautiful blue sky once again-
Green grass, long shadows from the pines,
Dogwood, lilac, snowballs, iris, mountain pink, all in bloom
"This is Spring"

Last night's sunset was
a brilliant copper.
This morning's sunrise is true brilliant silver,
Sending its rays spotlighting each flower, tree and blade of grass,
Making each one a star for a moment.
The iris are so varied in shades of lavender.
They last for such a little time.
Do I see these things more clearly now?
Each year brings its own beauty.
Last year's beauty fades.
This gives us faith to replant
So we will have the thrill of another year's adventure
Of these delicate flowers.
We have Choices.
Thank you for this day.

Hummingbirds, humming
happily,
Watermelon, Watermelon, Watermelon,
Drive to the mountains.
This is summer in North Carolina.
They are happy hummingbirds,
Gladiolus in full color
Morning wakes. Life is good.
